Accessibility in Beefree SDK: Empowering content creation for everyone

We’re on a mission to democratize content creation, and accessibility is at the core of that commitment. When you embed the Beefree SDK, you’re not just adding a content builder. You’re gaining a partner dedicated to inclusive design.

Accessibility in Beefree

Help your users create accessible content

Give your users the tools to design content that’s both beautiful and accessible — without the extra effort.

HTML built for accessibility by default

The Beefree SDK generates clean, semantic HTML with accessibility best practices built in.

Tools to easily design accessible content

Provide your users with intuitive tools to create accessible designs: add ALT text to images, set semantic headlines, optimize for mobile, and more.

Generate plain-text versions automatically

Creating a plain-text version is essential for screen readers. With our Plain Text API, you can generate them programmatically with ease.

Catch accessibility issues early

Use the Check API to help users test their designs for common issues – like missing ALT text – before publishing.

Making content creation more accessible for everyone

Accessibility doesn’t stop at the content — it’s part of the creation experience, too.

We made significant progress in making the Beefree Builder usable for everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies, and we continue to improve it every day.

Accessibility Content Creation

Keyboard navigation

We’ve enhanced keyboard navigation across the editor to help users move, edit, and build content without relying solely on a mouse, and we’re continuing to expand this support.

Screen reader support

Many key UI elements are now labeled and structured to work with assistive technologies, and we’re actively working to improve this coverage.

Inclusive design foundations

Our work is guided by WCAG 2.2 principles, and we’re continuously aligning our editor to meet these standards.

Our ongoing commitment to accessibility

Accessibility at Beefree is an ongoing commitment — not a box we check once and forget. Real accessibility means listening, learning, and iterating.

Here are just a few recent improvements:

We overhauled the “Preview” view to give the UI a more modern look and improve usability and accessibility.

The line height module got a makeover to help end users create more accessible content.

Improved aria-labels and descriptions for the ColorPicker, InputNumber, InputText, SidebarTitle, and StageColumnToolbar.

We reworked the Display Condition widget and modal windows for improved accessibility.
